  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut the butter into small pieces and add it to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the blueberries.
  7. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times until it comes together.
  8. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch (5 cm) thick.
  9. Cut the dough into 8 wedges and transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
  11. Allow the scones to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
