Cut the stale bread into cubes and place them in a greased baking dish.

Sprinkle the blueberries and lemon zest over the bread cubes.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract.

Pour the egg mixture over the bread and blueberries, pressing down gently to ensure all the bread is soaked.

Dot the top of the pudding with small pieces of butter.
