Coffee cake doesn’t actually contain coffee in the recipe. It is called coffee cake because it is commonly enjoyed with a cup of coffee.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the blueberries.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped nuts.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan and sprinkle with half of the brown sugar mixture.
  8. Add the remaining batter and sprinkle the top with the remaining brown sugar mixture.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes before removing it from the pan.
  11. Serve warm or at room temperature.
