Coffeecake is traditionally served with coffee, hence the name.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the sour cream, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  6. Gently fold in the blueberries.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped walnuts.
  8. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan and sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture on top.
  9. Add the remaining batter and sprinkle the remaining brown sugar mixture on top.
  10. Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Allow the coffeecake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
