Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the onion into wedges, leaving the root intact. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper. Place the bread dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Using a sharp knife, make cuts in the dough, forming a bloomin onion shape. Brush the butter mixture over the dough, making sure to get in between the cuts. Insert the onion wedges into the cuts. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
