Biscuit Balls
Biscuit balls are a popular snack in the southern United States and are often served with gravy or as a side dish with fried chicken.

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Cut the butter into small pieces and add it to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in the grated cheddar cheese.

Gradually add the milk, stirring until the dough comes together.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times to bring it together.

Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Brush the biscuit balls with the beaten egg.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuit balls are golden brown.
