Beaver Tails
Beaver Tails are a popular Canadian treat that originated in Ottawa, Ontario. Despite the name, they do not contain any actual beaver meat.

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into an oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).

Carefully place the dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 1-2 minutes per side.

Remove the fried dough from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar while still warm.
