In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.

Add the melted butter, granulated sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and milk to the bowl. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture over the muffin batter.

Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
