  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, mix the melted unsalted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
  5. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and mix well.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chopped walnuts and chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
  9. Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
