Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.

In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas.

Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.

Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.

Pour half of the banana batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle half of the melted chocolate over the batter. Use a knife to swirl the chocolate into the batter.

Repeat with the remaining batter and melted chocolate.

Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
