  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, cream the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the mashed bananas. Mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Slice and serve.
