Baklava
Baklava is believed to have originated in the Ottoman Empire and is a popular dessert in many Middle Eastern and Mediterranean countries.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a food processor, finely chop the walnuts and almonds.

In a bowl, mix the chopped nuts, sugar, and cinnamon.

Melt the butter in a small saucepan.

Brush a baking dish with melted butter.

Layer half of the phyllo dough sheets in the baking dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.

Spread the nut mixture evenly over the phyllo dough.

Layer the remaining phyllo dough sheets on top, brushing each sheet with melted butter.

Using a sharp knife, cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.

While the baklava is baking, make the syrup by combining honey, lemon juice, and water in a saucepan.

Bring the syrup to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

Remove the baklava from the oven and immediately pour the hot syrup over it.

Let the baklava cool and absorb the syrup for at least 1 hour.
