Baklava
Baklava is believed to have originated in the Ottoman Empire and has been enjoyed for centuries in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cultures.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 120 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 7.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a food processor, pulse the walnuts, almonds, sugar, and cinnamon until finely ground.

Melt the butter.

Brush a baking dish with melted butter.

Layer 6 sheets of phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.

Spread a layer of the nut mixture on top of the phyllo dough.

Repeat steps 5 and 6 until all the phyllo dough and nut mixture are used, ending with a layer of phyllo dough on top.

Cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes.

Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

While the baklava is baking, heat the honey in a saucepan until warm.

Pour the warm honey over the hot baklava.

Allow the baklava to cool and rest for at least 1 hour before serving.
