  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a saucepan, combine dried apricots and orange juice. Simmer over medium heat until the apricots soften and absorb the juice.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar. Add the egg and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, mixing until combined.
  5. Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of a greased baking dish. Spread the apricot mixture over the dough.
  6. Crumble the remaining dough over the apricot layer.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Let cool in the dish for 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
