Apple Turnovers
Apple turnovers are believed to have originated in Northern Europe, particularly Denmark and Sweden, where they are known as ‘Äppelkaka’ and ‘Äppelturnover’ respectively.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into 4 equal squares.

Peel and core the apples, then cut them into small cubes.

In a bowl, mix the apple cubes, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.

Divide the apple mixture equally onto each puff pastry square.

Fold the squares diagonally to form triangles and press down the edges to seal.

Brush the turnovers with beaten egg.

Place the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
