Peel, core, and slice the apples.

In a separate bowl, mix together the oats, brown sugar, remaining flour, cinnamon, and salt.

Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Spread the apple mixture evenly in a baking dish.

Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples, covering them completely.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
