  3. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until the butter is melted. Remove from heat.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and vanilla extract. Slowly pour the milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
  5. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Peel and chop the apple into small pieces. Fold the apple pieces into the batter.
  7. Grease a loaf pan and pour the batter into the pan.
