Almond Marzipan Cookie

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour and powdered sugar.

In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites until frothy. Add almond extract and granulated sugar, and continue whisking until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold the almond flour mixture into the egg white mixture until well combined.

Transfer the batter into a piping bag fitted with a round tip.

Pipe small rounds onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.

Top each cookie with sliced almonds.

Bake for 12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.

Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
