Slovak Christmas Bobalki

Dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, milk, melted butter, sugar, salt, and eggs. Mix well.

Gradually add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Cover the dough with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Divide the dough into small balls and arrange them on a greased baking sheet.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Meanwhile, cook the prunes in water until soft. Drain and mash them.

In a separate pan, toast the poppy seeds.

In a small saucepan, heat the honey.

Once the bobalki are baked, remove them from the oven and brush them with honey.
