Strawberry Ribbon Cake
Ribbon cakes get their name from the layered appearance when sliced, resembling a ribbon.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Spread the fresh strawberries evenly over the batter. Pour the remaining batter over the strawberries.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar.
