Slice the yellow squash, zucchini, onion, and mince the garlic.

In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced squash, zucchini, onion, and minced garlic. Sauté until tender, about 5-7 minutes.

In a separate saucepan, melt the remaining butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
