In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

In a separate bowl, beat the melted butter, eggs, sour cream, and milk until well combined.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the diced poblano peppers and shredded cheddar cheese.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
