Remove the saucepan from heat and pour the hot toffee mixture onto a greased baking sheet.

Let the toffee cool and harden for about 1 hour.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate in the microwave.

Spread the melted chocolate over the cooled toffee.
