Homemade Doughnuts

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, beat the milk, egg, and melted butter together.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 375°F (190°C).

Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Remove the doughnuts from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Roll the warm doughnuts in powdered sugar.
