Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the egg yolks one at a time, beating well after each addition.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and ground cardamom.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.

Shape the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.

Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Press a few sliced almonds onto the top of each dough ball.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
