  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Stir in the chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the bars to cool in the baking dish for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  11. Cut into bars and serve.
