Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the sugar over medium heat until it turns into a golden caramel.
  3. Pour the caramel into a flan mold or individual ramekins, swirling to coat the bottom.
  4. In a blender, combine the eggs, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
  5. Pour the mixture into the flan mold or ramekins, on top of the caramel.
  6. Place the flan mold or ramekins in a larger baking dish. Fill the larger dish with hot water, about halfway up the sides of the flan mold or ramekins.
  7. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the flan is set but still jiggles slightly in the center.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.
  9. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  10. To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan to loosen it. Invert onto a serving plate, allowing the caramel to drizzle over the top.
  11. Slice and serve chilled.
