Vanilla Milk Rolls Using a Creamy Insert Sheet
Ingredients
Instructions
-
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
-
In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add milk and heat until warm.
-
Pour the warm milk mixture into the dry ingredients. Add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
-
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
-
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
-
Meanwhile, prepare the creamy insert sheet by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, and scraped vanilla bean seeds until smooth.
-
Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle. Spread the creamy insert mixture evenly on top.
-
Roll up the dough tightly from the long side, like a Swiss roll.
-
Cut the roll into 12 equal slices and place them in a greased baking dish.
-
Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
-
Bake the rolls for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
-
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
