Ingredients
Instructions
-
In a saucepan, heat the milk, sugar, and butter until the butter melts. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the egg yolks while whisking continuously.
-
Gradually add the flour to the mixture, whisking until smooth. Stir in the rum.
-
Cover the batter and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
-
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a cannele mold with butter and dust with flour.
-
Fill each mold cavity with the batter, leaving a small space at the top for expansion.
-
Bake for 10 minutes, then reduce the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) and continue baking for about 50 minutes, or until the canneles are caramelized and set.
-
Remove from the oven and let the canneles cool in the mold for a few minutes. Carefully remove them from the mold and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
-
Serve the canneles at room temperature or chilled.
