Slice the French bread loaf into thick slices.

In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each bread slice.

Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the buttered side of the bread slices.
