In a separate bowl, whisk together melted butter, egg, milk, and almond extract.
-
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
-
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
-
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Punch down the dough and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope, about 20 inches (50 cm) long.

Twist two ropes together to form a ring and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining ropes.
-
Brush the rings with water and sprinkle sliced almonds on top.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
-
Remove from the oven and let the rings cool completely.
-
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and water to make a glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled rings.

Serve and enjoy!
