Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking dish with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the egg and almond extract to the butter mixture and mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.

Press the dough into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the almond slices evenly over the top.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
