Stroopwafels
Stroopwafels originated in the Netherlands in the late 18th century and are now a popular Dutch treat enjoyed around the world. The name ‘stroopwafel’ translates to ‘syrup waffle’ in English, referring to the delicious caramel-like syrup filling between the two thin waffle layers.

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt.

In a separate bowl, melt the butter and mix it with the brown sugar until well combined.

Warm the milk and add it to the butter-sugar mixture along with the vanilla extract.

Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.

Cover the dough and let it rise for about 1 hour.

Preheat a stroopwafel iron or a regular waffle iron.

Take small portions of the dough and press them in the hot iron, cooking until golden brown.

Remove the waffles from the iron and cut them in half while they're still warm.
