Ingredients
  • 200 gram Dates
  • 1 cup Boiling Water
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 100 gram Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 unit Eggs
  • 1.5 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 0.5 cup Double Cream
  • 1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 50 gram Butter
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the dates, boiling water, and baking soda. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the date mixture.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. In a small saucepan, heat the double cream, dark brown sugar, and butter over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture has thickened.
  8. Pour the toffee sauce over the warm pudding and let it soak for 10 minutes before serving.
  9. Serve the sticky toffee pudding warm with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
