The origin of s’mores dates back to the early 20th century and the recipe was first published in a Girl Scouts handbook in 1927.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until well combined.
  3. Press the mixture into individual tartlet pans to form the crust.
  4. Bake the crusts for 8-10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let them cool.
  5. In a heatproof bowl, combine the chocolate chips, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt.
  6. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water, making sure the bottom of the bowl doesn't touch the water.
  7. Stir the mixture until the chocolate is melted and the ingredients are well combined.
  8. Remove the bowl from the heat and let the chocolate ganache cool slightly.
  9. Pour the chocolate ganache into the cooled tartlet crusts.
  10. Place the marshmallows on top of the ganache.
  11. Use a kitchen torch to toast the marshmallows until golden brown.
  12. Let the tartlets cool for about 1 hour before serving.
