  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Cut the kabocha squash into chunks and remove the seeds and skin. Steam the kabocha until soft, then mash it.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed kabocha, flour, butter, granulated sugar, egg yolks, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  4. Press the dough into a tart pan, making sure to cover the bottom and sides evenly.
  5. Bake the tart crust in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove the tart crust from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  7. Pour the kabocha mixture into the tart crust and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake the tart in the oven for another 30 minutes or until the filling is set.
  9. Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool completely.
  10. Dust the top of the tart with powdered sugar before serving.
