Wash the basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan and add cloves, cinnamon stick, and cardamom pods. Fry for a minute.

Add chopped onion, garlic, ginger, and green chili. Saute until the onion turns golden brown.

Add sliced mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes.

Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.

Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Mix gently.

Add 4 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked.

Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and drizzle lemon juice.
