Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the peanut butter, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture. Mix well.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips.

Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Sprinkle a few sea salt flakes on top of each cookie.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.

Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
