Ingredients
  • 500 gram Plums
  • 100 ml Port wine
  • 150 gram Granulated sugar
  • 100 gram Butter
  • 250 gram All-purpose flour
  • 50 gram Ground almonds
  • 1 unit Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a saucepan, combine the plums, port wine, and granulated sugar. Cook over medium heat until the plums are soft and the liquid has thickened, about 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter, flour, ground almonds, egg, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until the dough comes together.
  4. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim off any excess.
  5. Pour the plum mixture into the tart shell.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  7. Allow the tart to cool for 30 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve the rustic plum and port tart with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
