Rugelach

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Cut in the butter and cream cheese until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Shape each part into a disk and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out one disk of dough into a circle. Spread a thin layer of jam or preserves over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and cinnamon.

Carefully roll up the dough into a log shape. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.

Cut each log into 1-inch pieces and place on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Allow the rugelach to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
