  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk and raisins until a soft dough forms.
  5. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for 1 minute.
  6. Roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
  7. Cut out circles using a round cookie cutter.
  8. Place a spoonful of raisin filling in the center of each circle.
  9. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal.
  10. Place the pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  11. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  12. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. Allow the pockets to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
