Ingredients
  • 2 cup Masa harina
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Refried beans
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese
  • 1 cup Pork or beef
  • 1 small Onion
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable oil
Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina, water, and salt. Knead until a soft dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into small balls. Flatten each ball and fill with a spoonful of refried beans, cheese, and your choice of meat and onions.
  3. Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the pupusas for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  5. Serve hot with salsa or curtido (pickled cabbage salad).
