Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the pumpkin mixture, mixing until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

In the meantime, prepare the cream cheese frosting. In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Once the cake has cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.

Allow the frosting to set for at least 30 minutes before serving.
