  3. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Punch down dough and divide into 12 portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place in a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
  6. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake buns for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, lemon juice, and water to make a glaze. Drizzle glaze over warm buns in the shape of a cross.
