Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cut the butternut squash in half lengthwise and remove the seeds. Peel the squash and cut it into 1-inch cubes.

In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the cubed squash and toss until evenly coated.

Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the pecans and cook for 2-3 minutes until lightly toasted.

Transfer the coated squash to a baking dish and sprinkle the toasted pecans over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the squash is tender and caramelized.
