  2. Add the golden syrup and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, all-purpose flour, and baking soda.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
  5. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
  8. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
