Add the carrot and frozen peas, and cook for another 2 minutes.

Stir in the turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute to toast the spices.

Add the rice to the saucepan and stir to coat the grains with the spices.

Pour in the vegetable stock and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.

Remove from heat and let the rice rest for 5 minutes.

Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot.
