Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Add sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix well.

Stir in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time. Add the flour and mix until just combined.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candies on top. Pour the remaining batter over the toppings.

Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
