Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the peanut butter, molasses, butter, and brown sugar. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped peanuts.

Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.

Bake for 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the bars to cool in the pan for 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
