Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Peel and pit the peaches, then cut them into small pieces.

In a saucepan, combine the peaches, sugar, and cinnamon. Cook over medium heat until the peaches are soft and the sugar has dissolved, about 5 minutes.

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined.

Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the peach mixture in the saucepan.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
